Classroom Behavior & Discipline Tools 

PURPOSE: To provide administrators, teachers and staff detailed training on how to develop classroom and school behavior plans using Restorative Practices in a school setting and inspired by state and federal laws.

Objectives…

  Develop cooperative relationships with children and parents, to promote appropriate child behavior

  Proactively reduce unconventional child behavior

  Base classroom and behavioral management decisions on recognized theories

  Communicate and show by example respect for culture, gender, social, and racial diversity and equity

Participants will leave with…

   Templates that provide a daily check in, classroom norms, and check out with teachers and support staff 

   Strategies to build strong, knowledgeable, empathic caring relationships w/ students  

   Tools to establish systematic referral protocols when conflicts arise and strategies for managing minor classroom disruptions  

   Standardized list of alternative disciplinary consequences based on RP principles to address unwanted behaviors
